VAT201

Your VAT201,
already added up.

Every invoice, credit note and supplier bill you capture lands in its VAT period. When the period ends, the return is waiting for review, not for a spreadsheet.

No card needed. R499 per company per month, everything included.

HOW THE RETURN COMES TOGETHER

From the documents
to the return.

Renvo works on the invoice basis: VAT falls in the period of the document date, whether or not it has been paid yet.

01

Captured once

Sales invoices and credit notes carry output tax; supplier bills carry input tax. Standard-rated and zero-rated amounts are kept apart line by line.

02

Reviewed by period

The open period shows output tax, input tax and the net amount payable or refundable, with any prior-period adjustments on their own line.

03

Filed and locked

Mark the return as filed and Renvo keeps a snapshot of its figures, so the return you submitted stays exactly as submitted.

04

Changes go to the next return

A bill dated into a filed period is picked up in the next open return, and an invoice edited after filing carries its difference there as an adjustment, instead of quietly changing the last one.

WHAT THE RETURN SHOWS

The main figures
eFiling asks for.

  • Standard-rated supplies Excl. VAT, with output tax
  • Zero-rated and exempt One line, apart from standard-rated
  • Input tax On goods and services bought
  • Prior-period adjustments On their own line
  • Net VAT Payable or refundable

NOT REGISTERED FOR VAT?

VAT you can’t claim
stays in the cost.

If the company isn’t a VAT vendor, the VAT on a supplier’s invoice is simply part of what it paid. Renvo posts it to the expense, not to a VAT account nobody can claim from.

QUESTIONS

Asked before
signing up.

Does Renvo submit the VAT201 to SARS?

No. Renvo prepares the figures; you submit the return on SARS eFiling and then mark the period as filed in Renvo, which locks the return’s figures.

Which VAT periods are supported?

Two-monthly Category A and Category B periods, and monthly periods. The compliance calendar works out each due date from the category set on the company.

Can a filed return be reopened?

Yes. Returns reopen latest first, so a correction never leaves a gap in the order of your filings.
